RiKon-5-AC Anode Wire Cassette The RiKon-5-AC Anode Wire Cassette allows an easy and replacement of the anode wire within a few minutes. It is simply inserted into the RiKon-5 detector without need of touching the sensitive anode wire aor any adjustment work. The cassette is delivered in a stable plastic box with a foam plastic padding, usable for safekeeping. |

Pressure Regulator Valve Type HSB-240-0105 In order to create a sufficiently weak counting gas flow through the RiKon-5 CEMS detector, a pressure regulator has to be used, which permits a very fine gas flow adjustment. Well suited for this purpose is the regulator valve type HSB 240-0105 from Air Liquide. The cylinder regulator is screwed on the top of the cylinder containing the counting gas and connected to the CEMS system by a flexible tube.
This tube
should be impermeable to water vapour in particular if RiKon-5 is used
at low temperatures.

RiKon-5 CEMS Detector

The Conversion Electron Mössbauer Spectroscopy (CEMS) is highly suitable for the examination of thin films and layers close to the surface. Conversion electrons are counted, which are emitted as a consequence of the de-energizing process of the nucleus that follows after resonant absorption of the Mössbauer radiation.
The advantage of this method of investigating the surface with the use of a gas-flow proportional backscatter detector is the simple treatment of the samples (no high vacuum is necessary) and the fact that usual Mössbauer equipment can be expanded for this measuring method with only a little effort.
The RiKon-5 detector is an easy-to-operate 3-wire gas-flow proportional backscatter detector with excellent energy resolution, suitable for measurements in the temperature range between 100 K and room temperature. Liquid nitrogen serves as the cooling agent.
Features
- 3-wire gas-flow proportional backscatter detector
- Excellent energy resolution
- Temperature range: 100 K to room temperature
- Cooling agent: Liquid nitrogen
- Ability to investigate surface or entire sample
- Measurements at angles from 0° to approx. 60° between γ-direction and surface normal
